bet365 app review
The bet365 app is still the one most UK punters mean when they say “betting app”. It’s strong for football, in-play, and UK racing streams, and it’s simple enough that you can place a bet without fighting the UI.
I’ve used the bet365 app for over a decade. It’s my default for live scores and football betting. Simplicity is the edge: even if you’ve never used a bookie app, the path from home screen to bet slip is obvious.

I’ve been reviewing and using bet365 on mobile since 2012. For context, here’s an older build of the home screen:

Key features
Live streaming
There’s a dedicated streaming hub for upcoming events. UK horse racing is the headline; you’ll also see football, tennis, baseball, ice hockey, greyhounds and more depending on rights. Look for the play icon next to a fixture. Geo rules apply — open the app where you are to see what’s available. Wi‑Fi is safer unless your data plan is generous.
In-play betting
The in-play centre is packed on busy days. Football matches surface live stats (possession, dangerous attacks and similar) above the markets. Biggest events sit on the home screen; most sports have at least some in-play coverage via the top quick links.
Football
From Premier League to lower leagues and the major European competitions, coverage is deep. Featured matches sit at the top of the football section, with a long league list underneath and the usual major markets further down the page.
Horse racing
You can bet far beyond UK racing, and stream UK meetings when your account and location allow (funded-account rules can apply). Multiples, Lucky 15s, handicaps and ante-post early prices are all there.
Position Payout is bet365’s simpler take on place-style racing bets: pick a horse and the return scales with how high it finishes. Full terms are in the racing section of the app.

- Open the app or join flow and tap Join Now.
- Enter name, date of birth, email, phone, address, username and password.
- Add a bonus code only if you have one.
- Set contact preferences and confirm you are 18+ and accept the terms.

How to deposit
From the home screen (logged in), use Deposit top-right. First time, you’ll add a payment method. Common options include debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Pay by Bank, Revolut Pay, Trustly, PayPal, paysafecard and wire transfer — limits differ by method (often £5 minimum on cards / Apple Pay / Google Pay).

How to place your first bet
- Find the event via home highlights, sport tabs, All Sports, or search.
- Open the event and tap the odds for your selection.
- Enter a stake in the bet slip (start small until you’re used to the flow).
- Tap Place bet when the button turns active.
How to place an accumulator
- Add multiple selections (e.g. several football matches, or mix markets).
- Open the bet slip — choose the accumulator / multiple line you want.
- Enter stake, check returns, place bet.
How to cash out
Log in. Use the Cash Out item in the bottom menu if you have it, or open My Bets and cash out from open bets that show an offer. Cash out is never guaranteed and can be withdrawn from a market at any time.

How to verify your account
Account icon → My Account → Verification. You’ll usually upload ID (passport or driving licence) plus proof of address (utility or council tax bill). Enhanced checks (affordability) can ask for bank statements or payslips if stakes or deposits are high.
How to withdraw
- Account icon → Banking → Withdraw.
- Money normally returns via the same method you deposited with.
- If that isn’t possible (e.g. some wallet methods), bet365 may fall back to bank transfer to a matching-name account.
Bet credits
Bet credits are bet365’s flexible free-bet style balance. See them under your account balance and in My Offers. Stake rules and expiry sit in each offer’s terms.
History and win/loss
Account → History for bets, deposits and withdrawals. Win/Loss can be filtered across Sports / Lotto / Gaming for a date range (max window is limited — typically up to six months per look-up).

Deposit limits
Set caps for 24 hours, 7 days and/or 30 days. Decreases apply quickly; increases are delayed (typically 24 hours) so you can’t impulse them away.
Time-out
Temporary full block for a period you choose (presets or custom to the minute). Confirm with your password.
Self-exclusion
Longer blocks: 6 months, 1, 2 or 5 years. You can exclude from sports, poker and/or gaming products — note casino/gaming selections can bundle together. This cannot be reversed early.
Account closure
Temporary or indefinite. Pick a duration/date and a reason (or prefer not to say), confirm with password.
Reality checks
On-screen reminders every 10, 20, 30 minutes or hourly. Shorter intervals apply immediately; longer ones after a delay.

Net deposit limits
Separate from standard deposit limits — used to cap net deposits over a period. If you hit a net deposit limit, you won’t be able to add more funds until the window resets or the limit is changed under the usual cooling-off rules.

3. Live Betting
bet365 has one of the most detailed live betting platforms in the industry. If you like to bet while the action is underway, bet365 will not disappoint.
Selecting a live event will provide you with a digital representation of what is occurring. This can be swapped out to display a table of key stats from the game, individual player stats (in team matches) or a timeline of events. There’s also the possibility of the event being available to stream live, which we cover in more depth later down the page.
For those who like to bet on what is going to happen next in a match or event, bet365 provides a Flash Bets markets tab, which includes markets such as a goal, corner or penalty occurring in the next minute or next ten minutes.
3–5 second delay
Live bets are subject to a short delay. This prevents spectators at the match responding to what is happening faster than the bookmaker’s traders can adjust the odds.
Market suspensions
If something critical happens, such as a penalty or a VAR review, related markets (or all markets on the event) may be temporarily suspended while the trading team calculate new odds.
This is common practice across all online bookmakers.
4. Cash Out
Cash Out has become a common feature from UK bookmakers. It gives you the chance to lock in a profit or minimise a loss before the event has ended.
As the event plays out, a cash out amount will be offered against eligible bets. The amount offered will depend on what is going on in the event. If the bet is hanging on by a thread, you can expect a low or non-existent cash out offer. If your bet is winning or close to it, the cash out amount offered should be more reasonable.
bet365 offers Cash Out on the majority of its markets, and any cash out being offered on an open bet can easily be identified from the My Bets section of the app.
5. Early Payout
No more heartache when your team goes two goals up in a match and fails to get the job done come the final whistle.
Place a football bet on the outright market in an eligible match and if your team goes two goals up, the bet is settled there and then as a winner.
If the selection forms part of an accumulator or Bet Builder, the outright selection goes down as settled once your team go two up, with the rest of the selections within the bet still live and running.

6. Sub On Play On
For those who like to bet on the player markets, the Sub On Play On feature can make the difference between a bet winning and one losing.
Place a bet on a player market displaying the Sub On Play On icon and if your player gets subbed off, their replacement keeps the bet live at the original odds. If they go on to achieve the requirements of the selection, it’s settled as a winner – even if they do it in extra time!

7. Live Streaming
We have been using, testing and reviewing betting apps for fifteen years and there isn’t one that comes close to bet365’s live streaming service.
Firstly, bet365 blows the competition out of the water when it comes to the number of live streams available. Thanks to the dedicated streaming section in the app, all streams available are easy to find in one place.
Where to find it: head to the In Play section of the app and scroll across the top menu bar to locate the streaming section.
When looking at the streaming service itself, there are lots of options. The viewing window is responsive. It is fixed at the top of the live event page with popular markets showing underneath. Scrolling down to reveal more markets will cause the viewing window to go into picture-in-picture mode, allowing you to place bets and still watch the action.
The viewing window can be expanded to full screen for a bigger view. Once in full screen, rotating to landscape orientation provides even more options:
- Change the aspect ratio from 16:9 to widescreen.
- Choose to have a scrollable betting markets bar showing at the bottom of the stream, or to have it hidden.
- Open up the live stream wall, allowing you to view multiple streams at the same time – ideal when you have an accumulator placed and you’re looking to keep your eye on multiple matches.
