Betway App Review

Betway app review

People may well have seen the TV adverts for Betway and be wondering who they are and if the app is any good. Betway are newer to mobile betting than some more established brands — that does not mean they are behind on quality.

Current new customer offer

The live welcome offer and claim button sit in the header above — always read those terms before you join. Headline wording can change; use the header as the source of truth for the current new-customer offer.

Free bet club tip

Tip — join the Betway free bet club when you register for weekly free bets (18+; terms apply). Opt-in is required. Single-line multiples with three or more selections only; minimum overall odds 2/1. Bets must settle between Saturday 00:00 BST and the following Friday 23:59 BST to count towards that week’s promotion.

App design

The design is well set out — some thought has gone into the layout. Options are activated from the Betway tab, where you choose where to navigate. Fonts are basic but clear, so you are rarely squinting to read what is going on.

Initial thoughts

When the app first launches it acts as a portal for the games on offer. You can flick between casino games, Vegas-inspired games and in-game sports betting with relative ease.

Latest promotions sit on the home page, so you do not have to get lost hunting special offers. Other betting apps kick you out to a browser for promotions — not here.

Housekeeping is strong: the range of markets is categorised so locating them is a few swipes of the thumb. Search by event or team name makes it a doddle to find the match you want.

In-play betting

There is a dedicated live betting section for events that are in play. The app is stable enough to use for checking latest scores even if you are not planning a bet. For big tennis and football matches, crowd and court-based backgrounds give a more immersive feel to the in-play markets.

Other Betway apps

Betway also publishes sister products. Download a dedicated app only if that is what you want — this page focuses on the sports app. The same account and balance work across Betway apps.

App features

Jump to a topic:

Bet Builder (#betyourway)

One of the later features added to the Betway app is the #betyourway bet builder. Combine multiple selections on applicable football matches into one bundled bet of odds up to 10,000/1.

You can view other people’s combinations for inspiration and either back them or tweak the selections. The builder continues to grow with the amount of markets that are offered, making the amount of possible combinations is ridiculous. Due to the amount of markets available, the bet builder tool’s menu and filter options takes a bit of time to get your head around, but once you have it allows you to navigate to desired markets quickly.

E-sports betting

There is a dedicated e-sports section — something not often seen in other betting apps. Access it from the menu bar at the top; on a phone you may need to swipe the menu left to see the option. Popular titles are covered, as well as some more obscure ones:

• CS:GO
• Dota 2
• League of Legends
• Starcraft 2
• Rainbow Six
• Wild Rift
• PUBG
• Valorant
• Starcraft Broodwar
• King of Glory
• Arena of Valor

Free games — Fixture Frenzy and Prize Wheel

Betway runs two free games that give users a chance at jackpot prizes: Fixture Frenzy and 4 to Win.

Fixture Frenzy is a weekly football game: log in each day after midday Monday-Friday to reveal a fixture scheduled for the upcoming weekend. There’s a maximum 5 fixtures available to be revealed (one each day). If any of those fixtures see over 2.5 goals, as well as over 8.5 corners you are awarded a free bet. The more fixtures that do from those revealed, the bigger the free bet prize:

• 1 fixture = £1 free bet
• 2 fixtures = £2 free bet
• 3 fixtures = £5 free bet
• 4 fixtures = £10 free bet
• 5 fixtures = £50 free bet

4 to Win is a free game targeting horse racing fans. Pick the four horses you think will win from the selected races, then answer a tie-break question (usually the winning margin from one race). The prize jackpot is £1,000 between Sundays and Fridays and £10,000 on Saturdays. There is no shared jackpot — the tie-break separates the winner from everyone who got all four winners. How to play is covered on In Play’s free betting competitions page.

Eligible Betway account holders can take a free spin on the Betway Prize Wheel, with every spin guaranteeing a prize. The rewards are primarily free spins or Mega Spins on selected casino games, although the available prizes can change over time.

Betway Super Prize Wheel

After spinning the standard Prize Wheel, eligible players can unlock the Super Prize Wheel by meeting an additional requirement: depositing and gambling £10 on casino games.

During our testing, the Super Prize Wheel offered the following rewards:

• 10 free spins on Wild Tomb
• 20 free spins on Hot As Hades Party Power Link&Win
• 40 free spins on Dark Waters III Power Combo The Cursed Voyage
• 40 free spins on Granny Vs Zombies 2 Loot Collect
• 40 free spins on Mummy Mania Perks Up Power Combo
• 50 free spins on Climb Time Devil Cash Uncovered
• 80 free spins on Immortal Romance Assembl’em
• 400 Mega Spins on Arthur Kingdom of Spins Link&Win

Important Prize Wheel terms

You must spin the standard Prize Wheel before working towards the Super Prize Wheel. If you deposit and gamble £10 on casino games before taking your initial Prize Wheel spin, that activity will not count towards unlocking the Super Prize Wheel.

Prize availability, eligibility criteria and wagering requirements may change, so check the current promotion terms in your Betway account before participating.

Our verdict

Overall, Betway stands well alongside the better-known brands. It is worth downloading for the in-play features and the welcome offer in the header — and there is much more on offer. An attractive and robust app for sports bettors who also want casino and Vegas options under one account.
