Navigating to the gambling control tools

Tools sit under user account settings. Tap the user account icon from the home page, scroll to account options and select Gambling Controls. The tools then list in drop-down menus.

Immediate 24 hour break

Prevents login for 24 hours after selecting the tool. Be warned: there is no confirmation step — it restricts the account immediately for a 24-hour period.

Spending controls

Three tools sit under spending controls:

1 — Deposit limits

Set daily, weekly and monthly limits. The + button adds a limit; the pencil edits; the bin deletes. New or decreased limits apply instantly. Increases have a 24-hour delay.

2 — Max stake limit

Attaches a maximum stake to online slot spins. Example: a £1 max stake means you cannot set stake per spin higher than that. Tap max stake, then +, enter a limit and SAVE.

3 — Deposit curfew

Restrict deposits at certain times or on certain days. Open the tool from the Gambling Controls hub. Pre-set curfews are offered, or add a custom curfew, set days/times and SAVE.

Time management

1 — Reality check

UK rules require a notification after 60 minutes in a casino session. Ladbrokes lets you shorten that reminder. Open Reality Check, pick 15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes, then save.

2 — Play breaks

Play Breaks stop deposits and bets for a defined period after a set amount of activity. Example: after 2 hours of betting, restrict the account for one hour.

1. Open Play Breaks under time management and tap + to add a rule.
2. Read the reminder that betting and depositing are blocked while a play break is active, then Continue.
3. Set how long you can be active before the break starts, then Continue.
4. Set the duration of the break, then Continue.
5. Confirm the summary with Confirm Play Breaks.

Account closure and reopening

1 — Product blocking

Block yourself from sportsbook, casino, bingo or poker while leaving other products open. Tap Block on the product, read the consequences, choose a duration (1 week, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, custom date, or indefinitely), then Confirm Block. Removal is subject to a 24-hour delay.

2 — Account closure

3 — Take a break
